CV Advice

First impressions last! As your CV is the first thing that the client will see it is essential that you have spent time making sure your CV sells you as an individual and highlights your skills and ability as well as your job history. When you meet one of our specialist consultants they will advise you on your CV and suggest how it should be edited to aid you with your job search.

A few guidelines:

  • Don't be too creative
  • Double check spelling & grammar!!
  • Keep it simple & sharp
  • Check all employment dates
  • Don't be economical with the truth
  • Try and keep your CV to 2 pages
  • Make it relevant - a future employer isn't really interested when you learnt how to swim, for instance!
Interview Advice
  • Before your interview, find out everything you can about the Agency - talk to your consultant who will provide you with a profile. Also research the account that you will be working on.
  • Dress is important - check with your consultant the dress code for each agency that you are meeting with.
  • You should try to anticipate the general questions which they will ask and also prepare some questions to ask them. When answering questions on your ability and skills try to always back these up with examples - a portfolio with examples of work is bound to impress them!
  • Be positive and friendly - personality is key when working in an agency!
